Sometimes things just fall into place so nicely (and sometimes not). A few months ago when my little group of art peeps was concocting plans for Election Day, our favored plan was biking through the streets in crazy outfits making noise and cheering voters on. We didn’t get super organized behind that plan, even though there was a lot of energy for it. Still, some of us were able to do exactly that when we found out about and hooked up with Bike for Democracy. These people deserve some kind of trophy for most amazing or most crazy. They biked to Philly for the election. From Portland. The one in Oregon. They started on August 12. Go Team! Elena and I biked around with them for awhile in the late afternoon / early evening. Even though we didn’t have superhero outfits, our punk-rock pinned-on November 2 scraps matched their November 2 underwear-on-the-outside nicely. If only Ohio had a few more superheros…
